In short: Salon HR software records who worked, who was late and who is on leave, then turns that into a payroll run with prorated salary, overtime and payslips that the owner approves. Salon OS HR and payroll is being designed now and is rolling out to early-access members.
What salons need
- Attendance by day and month with worked time and late marks.
- Leave requests, approvals and a team calendar.
- Payroll that prorates salary by days present and adds overtime.
- Approval by the owner before a payroll run becomes final.
- Payslips for each team member, visible only to that person and to the owner.
How Salon OS is approaching it
Worked minutes are the time between clock-in and clock-out minus breaks. A late mark counts only when someone arrives after the shift start plus the grace period you set. A manager prepares the payroll run and the owner approves it, so no one approves their own pay. Salary figures are private: receptionists and stylists see only their own payslip.
Statutory deductions
Provident fund, ESI, professional tax and TDS rules vary by state and change over time. The first release does not calculate them; they will be configured later once the rules are verified. Salon OS will not show a statutory figure it cannot stand behind.
Salon OS is in development. This page describes what Salon OS is designed to do. Screens on this website are design previews with sample data, and features marked as rolling out are not live yet.
