In short: Salon inventory software tracks the colour, treatment and retail products a salon uses and sells, warns you before something runs out, and records every receipt and adjustment. Salon OS inventory is being designed now and is rolling out to early-access members.
What a salon needs from inventory
- Two pools of stock: back-bar products used in services, and retail products sold to customers.
- Reorder levels with clear Out, Low and OK states.
- Days of cover: how many days current stock will last at your usual usage.
- Suppliers with lead time and minimum order quantity.
- A movement history: received, adjusted, wasted, used, with who and when.
How Salon OS is approaching it
Stock is visible to everyone who works at the salon, and only the owner and manager can change reorder levels, receive stock or adjust it. Services can list the products they normally use, so you can see which services drive consumption. Stock is not deducted automatically from services in the first release.
Salon OS is in development. This page describes what Salon OS is designed to do. Screens on this website are design previews with sample data, and features marked as rolling out are not live yet.
What comes later
Barcode scanning, stocktake counts, batch and expiry tracking, multi-branch transfers and purchase suggestions are not part of the first inventory release.
